How to Add a Passport, ID, Birth Certificate or other document Account


To add a Passport, ID, Birth Certificate or other document to WebAccount Password Manager all you need is an Account name. An account can be a Website account or something which you want to record securely, for example, Credit or Debit card details.

Passports, ID Cards and other important documents are something we "put away" for many good reasons. But increasingly we need information from them when online, for example when booking and checking-in for flights. WebAccount enables you to securely store the information so you do not need to continually access these documents, just "Copy and Paste" when required, much easier and faster.
Whilst this example is about a Document account and seperately there are examples for Card and Website accounts they can be merged. There are no "types" of account in WebAccount but to help understand how to use WebAccount we have created specific examples. If your Website account also includes Card information then put all the relevant information into one account.

Add a Passport, ID, Birth Certificate or other personal document

1. Enter the name for the new account

The name of the account can be up to thirty characters in length and can use any character on your keyboard.
As a suggestion, if you have multiple documents of the same type, for example, passports, you could use the convention.

  • PASSPORT - AMANDA
  • PASSPORT - JANE
For the purposes of demonstrating how WebAccount works, this example is for a Passport document.
After entering the account name press the Tab key, touch or click into the Account number field.

2. Enter the Passport number.

Once the Passport Number is entered, click, touch or use the Tab key to move to the "Prompt" fields area.
The Prompt "dropdowns" can be uniquely set for every account in WebAccount. Each account can use up to and including nine different Prompts with respective Values.
The Prompts identify what the value is for example:
  • Date of Birth
  • Expiry date
  • Date of issue
  • Country of issue
  • Nationality
Prompts are shared. So if "Date of Birth" is used for one account then it can also be used for other accounts. The value saved becomes the default value if it is used on another account. You can override the value on every account that uses it. More information about security and your "Date of Birth".

3. Enter or Select the first prompt (Date of Birth).

Enter "Date of Birth" for the Prompt, press the Tab key, click or touch to move to the field to the right and enter the actual date of birth in any format you prefer.
As you enter the Prompt "Date of Birth" all other prompts are checked character by character and if a match is found the prompt is selected for you and its Value shown.
Important: Recording values like "Date of Birth" for your Passport might seem strange but there are times when this can be useful and provide additional security for you.

4. Select the second prompt (Expiry date).

Enter "Expiry date" for the Prompt and in the field next to it, the value from the Passport.

5. Select the third prompt (Date of issue).

Enter "Date of issue" for the Prompt and then the value from the Passport.

6. Select the fourth prompt (Country of issue).

Enter "Country of issue" for the Prompt and in the field next to it, the value from the Passport.

7. Select the fifth prompt (Nationality).

Enter "Nationality" for the Prompt and in the field next to it, the value from the Passport.

8. Save the Account.

Click or touch the Save button and the account will be added to WebAccount. The Save button is set as the "default" button. So pressing the Enter key at any time will also select the Save button.
Immediately after saving, the account can be selected using the name provided.
Make sure you regularly backup your data especially after making changes.
